DES MOINES - On the final day of the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, senior Kris Kornegay-Gober recorded a fifth-place finish in the men's high jump, while redshirt senior Ryan Hill finished third in the men's 5,000m run.
Kornegay-Gober, a senior and four-time All-ACC performer from Washington, D.C., leaped a season-best 7' 2.50" (2.20m) over the horizontal bar to put himself in a three-way tie for fifth place in the event. Purdue's Geoffrey Davis and Iowa State's Cameron Ostrowski matched Kornegay-Gober's best mark.
Kornegay-Gober topped his previous season high of 7' 1.50" (2.17m), which was set in his third-place performance at the ACC Championships on April 19.
Hill, the only collegian competing in a star-studded 5,000-meter run, lined up with one of the world's premier runners in the event - Bernard Lagat. Hill went on to take the bronze, crossing the finish line in third place with a time of 14:55.16.
