GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State's Augusta James and Brittany Marchand were selected to the 2013 All-ACC Women's Golf team on Monday by a vote of the league's head coaches.
Head coach Page Marsh of the 20th-ranked Wolfpack was the runner-up in Coach of the Year balloting after guiding her club to a second-place finish at the ACC Championship, the best in program history.
Both from Ontario, Canada, Marchand and James land on the All-ACC team for the second-consecutive season. In addition, James was the Wolfpack's first freshman of the year in 2012.
Marchand, a junior, leads NC State with a 74.4 scoring average. She boasts four top-six finishes in her last five events, including runner-up at the Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge, a T4 at Bryan National, a T5 at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational and a tie for sixth at the ACC Championship.
James owns a 74.6 stroke average, a mere four-shot difference from Marchand in nine tournaments. She has seven top-15 placements this year, including third at the Sir Pizza Terrapin Challenge, a T5 at the Puerto Rico Challenge and a tie for 12th at the ACC Championship.
NC State is the eighth seed in the NCAA Central Regional that runs May 9-11 at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club at the University of Oklahoma.
