Pack Track & Field Travels to Penn Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Just one week removed from the 2013 ACC Championships, members of the NC State track & field team will head north to Philadelphia, Pa., to compete in the 119th Penn Relays, April 25-27.
A large group of Wolfpack distance runners will compete at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., at Stanford University.
At last weekend’s ACC Championships, NC State’s women’s team recorded a third-place showing and notched its best finish at the meet since 1986.
Senior Karimah Shepherd won the ACC crown in the women’s long jump with a 20’ 7.25” leap, while four other female athletes earned All-ACC honors, including senior Andie Cozzarelli (10,000 meters), redshirt sophomore Tremanisha Taylor (shot put), redshirt freshman SeQuoia Watkins (discus) and junior Elizabeth Shuman (high jump).
The men’s team had four All-ACC performances over the three-day meet, including senior Brian Himelright (steeplechase), senior Kris Kornegay-Gober (high jump), freshman Graham Crawford (1,500 meters) and redshirt junior Andrew Colley (5,000 meters).
