Gymnastics Competes Against UNC Friday on ESPN3

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State gymnastics team will make a short commute over to Chapel Hill, N.C., to compete against the UNC Tar Heels Friday night. The meet is slated to begin at 7 p.m. in Carmichael Arena, and will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
NC State (10-4-1) is coming off of a great performance at its annual Sweetheart Invitational last weekend, in which the Pack finished first with a season-high team score of 195.675. The Tar Heels (11-4) also competed at the Invitational, and finished second with a score of 195.550.
NC State head gymnastics coach Mark Stevenson eclipsed the 500 win mark with the first place finish, advancing his career victories total to 501. Juniors Hannah Fallanca and Stephanie Ouellette set career-bests at the meet, as Fallanca recorded a 9.95 on beam and Ouellette tallied a 9.95 on floor exercise.
State currently sits in second place in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL), with a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 194.940. UNC occupies fourth with a RQS of 194.140.
As a team, the Pack owns the best average in the conference on beam (48.725), and second best averages on floor exercise (48.875) and vault (48.964).
