State Women's Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women’s soccer team has earned recognition for strong academic performance during the 2012-13 academic year, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced Thursday.
The Wolfpack earned the team award for the second straight year and the 11th time since the 1999-00 academic calendar. NC State was one of 862 college soccer teams (269 men, 593 women) to post a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
State’s women’s soccer program posted a team GPA of 3.22 throughout the 2012-13 academic year.
The NC State women’s soccer team enjoyed an improved 2013 season under new head coach Tim Santoro, going 7-12 overall. The Wolfpack went 5-1 in nonconference play and ended the season with a 2-1 win over No. 23 Wake Forest, the program’s first victory over a ranked opponent since 2009.
