NC State senior midfielder Nazmi Albadawi has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after leading the Pack to a 1-0 overtime road win at No. 10 North Carolina last Friday night.
Albadawi continues to spark the Wolfpack (8-5-4, 3-5-3 ACC) since returning from a high ankle sprain that sidelined him for most of October. The senior midfielder has scored four goals and chipped in two assists since his return from injury, leading the Pack to a 3-1 record over that stretch.
Albadawi scored the game-winner less than two minutes into overtime on Friday night in Chapel Hill, lifting NC State to a 1-0 victory. His goal is the first allowed by the Tar Heel defense in its last 425 minutes of play, dating back to October 22.
The ACC Player of the Week honor is the second of Albadawi's NC State career. He also collected the award in 2011 after a pair of game-winning goals against Georgia Southern and Virginia Tech.
