NC State travels to Syracuse to take on the Orange at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
The Wolfpack (4-2-2, 1-2-1 ACC) earned a 1-1 tie on the road at Gardner-Webb on Tuesday night behind an 86th minute goal by Michael Bajza, the first of his collegiate career.
Heading into the week, State owned the No. 32 RPI in the country, placing them sixth in the ACC and in good position for NCAA Tournament contention.
The Pack's Nick Surkamp sits one goal shy of the conference lead with four. Alex Martinez is second in the ACC with four assists, one back of leader Diego Medina-Mendez of Boston College.
The Wolfpack is 1-0 all-time against Syracuse. This season marks the first time the two programs will meet in conference play.
Syracuse (7-3, 1-3 ACC) enters the game following a double overtime win against Binghamton on Tuesday night. The Orange boast a 1-0 win over No. 12 UConn on September 17, and a 2-1 win at Duke on September 20.
