Martinez Garners National Attention

College Soccer News named Alex Martinez one of its National Players of the Week for his performance in the Wolfpack's wins over Delaware and Santa Clara at the John Rennie Nike Invitational.

Martinez netted a goal and contributed two assists in the Pack's 6-0 rout of Delaware. He also provided the game-winner in State's 2-1 win over Santa Clara. Those achievements earned him MVP honors for the tournament.

Behind Martinez, the Wolfpack has leapt out to a 4-0 start for the first time since 1987. State returns to action Friday, September 7 with an 8 p.m. match at UNC Greensboro.
