GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State’s volleyball team will make three appearances this fall as part of the ACC’s record-breaking schedule for broadcast coverage of Olympic sports, the league announced on Friday.
Last year, the Wolfpack made two appearances as part of the league’s coverage, hosting Florida State and Georgia Tech at Reynolds Coliseum on the ACC’s Regional Sports Networks.
This year, head coach Bryan Bunn’s team will start with a game at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
The Pack will also host two matches on the same weekend at Reynolds, Florida State on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. and Miami on Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.
All other home games will be live streamed, free of charge, on GoPack.com.
“Its great that we will be on TV 3 times this year as well as have all of our matches streamed live,” Bunn said. “It’s important that everyone get a glimpse at the growth of our program.
“As we change the perception of NCSU volleyball across the country, the more people that get to see us the better.
The Wolfpack had a breakthrough in Bunn's second season in 2011, posting a 20-13 record, the program’s first winning season since 1996 and its most wins since 1999. Bunn’s team set four school records and set an ACC mark with six consecutive five-set matches.
The other school records included a program-best 13-match winning streak, eight conference victories and four league road wins.
This year’s team consists of seniors Megan Cyr and Alexa Micek, along with 11 other returning lettermen and five incoming freshmen. The Pack begins practice on Aug. 7 and will host the Wolfpack Challenge exhibition match on Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum.
NC State opens the season by participating a tournament at College of Charleston in Charleston, S.C., on Aug. 24-25.
