
James Climbs into Top-10 in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Augusta James climbed into the top-10 on a 2-under par 70 No. 19 NC State held on to 11th place at the Bryan National Collegiate Saturday at the par 72, 6,323 yard Bryan Park Players Course.
James’s 2-over 146 total puts her in a tie for eighth overall, five back of a three-way tie for first between Jessica Negron of Florida State, No. 68 Erica Popson of Tennessee, and No. 96 Rachel Rohanna of Ohio State. James currently ranks 61st in the nation, and holds leads over 16 players ranked in the Golfstat Top 100, topping out at No. 21 Caroline Powers of Michigan State. The 2-under par 70 represents James’s 10th round of par or better this season, and vaults her 30 spots up the leaderboard.
State holds on to leads over No. 24 Michigan State and No. 38 Kentucky on the team leaderboard, and sits within three shots of No. 25 Virginia and No. 33 Tulane after an 11-over par second round 299. No. 14 Tennessee holds the team lead at 8-over after a second round 291.
Ana Menendez shot a 5-over 77 on day two, slipping 11 spots into a tie for 34th. Vivian Tsui pulled into a tie for 45th with a 4-over 76. Lindsay McGetrick climbed to 65th with a 76 as well. Brittany Marchand fell into a tie for 70th with a 78.
