RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State’s volleyball team will play in the first of four spring tournaments on Saturday when it travels to Duke for four matches.
The Wolfpack, which had its first winning season since 1996 and its most wins since 1999 in the fall, opens its spring schedule at 10 a.m. against UNC Charlotte, followed by an 11 a.m. contest against Catawba.
In the afternoon, the Pack plays Duke at 2 p.m. and North Carolina at 4 p.m.
Head coach Bryan Bunn, beginning his third season with the Wolfpack, guided his team to a 20-13 record last fall, including a school-record eight ACC victories.
“The team has been working really hard for the past seven weeks and are ready for some outside competition,” Bunn said. “This tournament will give us a good idea of where we are with our team goals for the spring.”
The Wolfpack will host a tournament at Reynolds Coliseum next weekend, then travel to Virginia to play in a tournament hosted by the Coastal Virginia Volleyball Club. The Pack will host another round-robin event at Reynolds Coliseum on April 14.
“The team has been working really hard for the past seven weeks and are ready for some outside competition,” Bunn said. “This tournament will give us a good idea of where we are with our team goals for the spring.”
