RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's golf team opens the spring season this Sunday at the Puerto Rico Classic at Rio Mar Country Club River Course.
The three-day, 54-hole event will run Sunday-Tuesday, Feb. 19-21.
The Wolfpack gets a big boost to its lineup with the return of junior All-American Mitch Sutton, who missed all but one tournament in the fall due to injury.
A veteran squad will go up against a stout 14-team field this year in Puerto Rico that includes No. 1 Texas, No. 5 Georgia Tech, No. 8 Alabama, No. 13 Clemson, and No. 21 Oklahoma State.
Also included in the field is ETSU, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, host Purdue, UNCG and Virginia Tech.
Joining Sutton in the spring opener is seniors Graham Baillargeon, Chad Day and Mark McMillen, and sophomore All-American Albin Choi.
Both McMillen and Choi earned individual titles in the fall, with McMillen earning his first collegiate title at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate.
Meanwhile, Choi garnered his third career victory at NC State at the UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate in Greensboro.

The Wolfpack will continue the spring season at the Louisiana Classics Invitational March 5-6 at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, La.
