CHICAGO, ILL. - Senior Brooke Barr scored wins on vault and floor, and submitted a runner-up performance on beam as No. 18 NC State came away victorious in its first road contest of the season, besting Illinois-Chicago with a 194.200.
Barr's highlight came with a 9.875 floor routine to top the rest of the field by a full tenth of a point. UIC's Chantel Turk turned in the second best routine of the night, a 9.775.
Barr tied Diahanna Ham with a 9.85 vault to put two Pack gymnasts on the top of the podium. A 9.8 on beam capped Barr's evening, good to tie Stephanie Ouellette for second, and trailing only Jess Panza's first place 9.85.
For the second-straight meet, Hannah Fallanca posted a new career-high on vault with her 9.8 to capture a third place finish behind Ham and Barr. Rachel Fincham took the top honors on bars for the second meet in a row, as well, notching a 9.825 to beat out Ouellette's 9.8, and Alex Williams's 9.75.
Ouellette took the all-around off for the first time in her career, but did snag a pair of runner-ups, adding a 9.8 beam routine in addition to her second on bars.
Freshman Lane Jarred landed on the podium for the second time in three meets, finishing third with a 9.75 floor exercise.
State returns to action in a week, as the Wolfpack travels to Oklahoma to square off with the Sooners on Friday, January 27 at 8 p.m. ET.
