Markus Kuhn answered fan questions on GoPack.com.
Markus: Hallo Wolfpack fans, es freut mich das ihr heute etwas zeit habt um mit mir zu chatten.
Markus: Hey Wolfpack fans, I'm glad that you guys have some time to chat with me today.
Comment From Guest: Are you a fan of soccer? What do you think of Jurgen Klinsmann coaching the U.S. National Team?
Markus: I like soccer and played as a youngster. I follow the German National Team, but not teams from the U.S. I was at the Murphy Center when they announced the new coach, and I was pretty excited. Americans with a German coach could be pretty unstoppable.
Comment From Haywood: Do you feel old that you play football with a bunch of 18,19,20 year olds, and your 26?
Markus: Well first, I'm ONLY 25. I do feel more mature, but my football age is actually younger then my teammates because I only started to play at 15. So yes, I am older in the locker room, but most of them are older then me on the field.
Comment From JL: How did you end up at NC State? The story I recall was that you just showed up at the football center one day and asked for a meeting with a coach? How much of that is true?
Markus: That is actually 100 percent true. My dad and I traveled around the east coast looking at schools I could play football at, and NC State was one of the schools I visited. My dad's name is actually Wolfgang, so he thought it would be cool if I played for the Wolfpack.
Comment From Sheila: How many games have your parents been able to fly over to see? Will they be at any of your games this year?
Markus: Every year my mom and sister have come for a game. My dad has been over here a couple of times when we had two straight home games. This year my mom is coming twice, for South Alabama and again on Senior Day against Maryland. My dad will also be here for Georgia Tech and Central Michigan. Every time my mom has been to a game at Carter-Finley we have won.
Comment From Justin Sellers: What are your plans after graduation? Will you return home to Germany or do you plan to stay in North Carolina?
Markus: I already graduated with a degree in business administration, and am currently working on a third language, Spanish. So far I really do not know what is going to happen after this season. Right now, I am just on a student visa, but would love the opportunity to live in the U.S.
Comment From papa georgio: would you rather battle 1. 100 lb chupocobre/ jet ski lion or 100.. 1 pound chupocobre/ jetski lions
Markus: It doesn't matter it's the same thing.
Comment From Chennelle Miller: Markus - what's been your favorite class at NC State so far?
Markus: I really enjoyed all of my entrepreneurship classes with Professor Sheats. It was my business concentrations, and I really enjoyed the program.
Comment From Greg: What is it going to take to get more push from the defensive line against Wake?
Markus: Liberty was a good test for us early, they had a scrambling QB that we had to chase all game. Practice has been intense this week with Coach Willis, and I can promise you the D-line will be ready to get after it on Saturday.
Comment From mattesmaniac17: Who is prettier? Andrew Wallace or RJ Mattes?
Markus: Talk about a question I never thought I would have to answer. To me, all offensive linemen are ugly.
Comment From Sheila: Hi Markus -- coming from Germany, did you have any idea how passionate NC State fans are about their football?
Markus: First I had no idea how big college football was overall in the U.S. The first college football game I ever saw, even on TV, was the first game my freshman year. I remember running out of that tunnel and how loud it was and the excitement of all the fans.
One of my favorite memories was after we beat WVU, coming back to the hotel lobby and it was just PACKed with Wolfpack fans. The fact people came to support us means so much to all of us.
Comment From jackie: whos the best dancer on the team?
Markus: I am the best dancer on this team, I was once on the German version of Dancing With the Stars.
Comment From Mike: Do you watch NFL? Who is your team?
Markus: I really like the NFL, but I don't really have a favorite team. I just follow former NC State football players. Hopefully I will get a shot to play at that level one day.
Comment From Da Boss: This might be odd - but do you have an NC drivers license?
Markus: Actually no, but it is legal to drive over here with my German drivers license. We do drive on the same side of the rode back home, but I'm use to driving a little bit faster on the highways back in Germany.
Comment From Doug: Tell Me about this "America" chant I keep hearing about. Apparently you shout it out when you make plays...
Markus: It is something I do for motivation, it started after we beat Florida State last year. After the game I just screamed America into a TV camera for some reason. Now it just stuck with all my teammates.
Comment From Wentz53: I noticed your flow at the liberty game and want to look like you. Any tips on growing hair?
Markus: The first secret is to not get a haircut, it has been almost a year for me now. Second, rinse your hair with buffalo milk every night before bed time. It works!
Comment From popcorn: how many times do you eat a day
Markus: I try to eat about four meals a day, and a snack late at night. Especially after a really hard workout it is important to refuel your body. Hopefully after my playing days, I will not have to eat like this anymore.
Markus: I thank all of you for taking the time to submit questions, I had fun and its great to see the interest our fans have in us. The support is great, and I hope to see some German flags in the stands at our next home game.
