Coral Gables, Fla. - NC State continues its road swing through the ACC with a match at Miami on Thursday night beginning at 7 p.m. Tonight's game will be the first in the league for the Pack against a team not ranked in the top-10 nationally.
NC State comes into the match riding a scoreless draw with No. 9 Maryland in College Park last Sunday. It marked the first time all season that State did not score a goal, the longest stretch to begin a campaign in the last 20 years.
Senior keeper Kim Kern made six saves to record a fifth shutout of 2011. The Raleigh native now owns 15 in her four seasons with the Wolfpack, the fifth highest total in program history.
Kern is tied for fifth in the ACC in shutouts, and has made a league-leading 63 stops. She also ranks fourth in save percentage (.829) and ninth in goals-against-average (1.08).
Freshman Stephanie Bronson leads the club with six goals, and ranks among the ACC leaders in scoring within league games only with two goals in three games.
Scouting Miami
Miami won a program-record tying seven-straight contests before falling to No. 4 Duke and No. 7 Wake Forest in its last two matches.
Last Meeting
NC State lost 2-0 at home to Miami last Oct. 14 at Dail Soccer Field.
