Raleigh, N.C. - Georgia State's Jamal Keene scored the lone goal in the 11th minute, as the visiting Panthers (6-2-1) came away with a 1-0 win over NC State (3-4-2) Tuesday night at Dail Soccer Field.
Keene worked a give-and-go with Stephen McGill, which resulted in Keene netting the score at the 10:28 mark from about 20 yards out.
The Pack had a pair of chances of its own in the first 45 minutes, as freshmen Matt Ingram and Monbo Bokar both launched shots one minute apart that were saved by Panthers keeper C.J. Cochran.
There were limited scoring chances in the second half, as both teams combined for just five shots in the half.
Cochran made three saves to earn the shutout for Georgia State, while NC State's Fabian Otte recorded three saves.
NC State concludes its four-game homestand this Friday night, when the Pack plays host to No. 14 Boston College at 7 p.m.
