Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men's soccer team scored three goals in a span of 10 minutes in the second half, to net a 4-0 win over Presbyterian Tuesday night at Dail Soccer Field.
The Wolfpack (3-2-2) would get on the scoreboard in the 20th minute of play. Sophomore Ryan Metts won the ball in the midfield and found junior Moritz Steidten along the left sideline. After a few dribbles, Steidten played a through ball to freshman Matt Ingram who got behind the defense for the breakaway goal at the 19:52 mark.
NC State controlled play in the first half, holding a 9-2 shot advantage after the first 45 minutes of play.
NC State's offense then exploded for three goals in just over 10 minutes to put the game away. Steidten netted his own tally at the 74:54 mark off assists from Nazmi Albadawi and Zabarle Kollie. Albadawi would find the back of the net himself in the 83rd minute, and then it was sophomore Danny DiPrima scoring his first career goal off assists from Albadawi and Nader Jaibat in the 85th minute.
For the game, the Pack outshot the Blue Hose 20-8. Senior Vasilios Dimopoulos made his first career start in goal, and recorded one save for NC State's fourth shutout of the season.
With the win, NC State improves to 2-0-2 at home this season, where the Pack will play its next three contests.
NC State will return to home action this Friday night, hosting ACC foe Clemson at 7 p.m. at the Dail Soccer Field.
