Kissell Advances to A Singles Final

Charlottesville, Va. -- Joelle Kissell continued her winning ways at the University of Virginia Invitational, advancing to the finals of the A Singles bracket. Newcomer Elisha Hande made the finals in the C Singles bracket.
Kissell defeated Kayla Duncan of Wake Forest 7-5, 6-4, and teamed up with Ashley Miller to beat the doubles team from Winthrop 8-5. Hande prevailed over Karen Forman of Wake Forest 6-2, 6-4.
Junior Tatiana Illova also picked up a win in singles action, defeating Josefin Hjertquist of VCU 6-1, 6-3.
The doubles team of Sophie Nelson and Christy Sipes defeated Marjorie Baker and Claire Spooner of the University of Virginia 8-6.
Play will resume Sunday at 9 a.m.
