A year after unveiling its revamped website with a new webhost and an improved look, NC State relaunched its www.GoPack.com athletics website today with an even better and more attractive look and updated user-friendly features.
GoPack.com's new look will feature numerous improvements.
• Top Headlines and other top tabs are expanded to cover the full width of the page for a better user experience.
• An enhanced 16:9 video player will give the user a higher-quality GoPack All-Access experience.
• The "Recent News" tab is now formatted to show more headlines before users will have to scroll.
• A "State In The News" tab will feature Wolfpack stories from outside media outlets.
• Specific team pages will have more sport specific content including:
• a sport-specific wide-screen video player
• a sport-specific Twitter feed
• a cleaner "Team Links" box to make it easier to find team-specific information
In addition, story pages are now formatted to include all "Team Links" information as well as links to that sport's "Recent News."
"Developing a first-class website has been a priority project for us and we are pleased with the final outcome," Director of Athletics Deborah A. Yow said. "There is more video, easier to access, and a more user-friendly layout in general."
While GoPack.com is now updated, streamlined and fully modernized, the site still features the same quality content and continues to be the premier site for all things related to Wolfpack athletics.
The front page will include all the top breaking stories on NC State athletics, with editorial and video content, along with the NC State Athletics Twitter feeds. Individual sports pages will feature sport-specific editorial and video content, a sport-specific Twitter feed, and sidebar features that include schedules, results, statistics, rosters, on-line yearbooks and recruiting information.
Fans will continue to have a direct line to the NC State athletics administration via Wolfpack Unlimited. Fans can ask questions of the athletics staff, offer feedback on their experiences at games and get information about various aspects of the Athletics Department by clicking on the "Wolfpack Unlimited" button on the "Contact Us" tab.
The site will continue to feature easy-to-use drop-down menus for such things as varsity sport pages, on-line ticket information, and sidebar tabs dedicated to featured events, like NCAA championships hosted at NC State facilities.
The GoPack.com Official On-line Store still will offer a wide array of NC State apparel and merchandise.
GoPack All-Access, which is GoPack.com's premium service, will continue to offer to subscribers live audio and video coverage of football, men's and women's basketball, baseball and other sports.
Fans who don't wish to subscribe to GoPack All-Access can follow live action for several sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, soccer and baseball, on GameTracker, a live statistics monitoring service. Game Tracker also features links to other games in progress, allowing fans to monitor key games that might affect NC State while still following the Wolfpack.
"With the relaunch of GoPack.com, NC State Athletics has been able to incorporate many of the suggestions that our fans have made over the past year," said Chris Alston, assistant athletics director for marketing and web operations. "Our goal was to create a site using the most up-to-date technology, while allowing our fans to quickly and easily navigate to the information they are looking for."
GoPack.com has been designed with Wolfpack fans in mind. Fans are encouraged to explore the site at any time, night or day. For those who have questions, suggestions or feedback, a staff member is always monitoring "Wolfpack Unlimited."
