Sutton Moves To Match Play at U.S. Amateur

Erin, Wisc. - Junior Mitchell Sutton of the NC State men's golf team qualified for the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur Championship. Wolfpack and Team Canada teammate Albin Choi missed the cut by one shot.
Sutton, from London, Ontario, is now the No. 41 seed in the match play draw among 64 competitors. He takes on Daniel Nisbet of Australia in the first round.
Sutton tied 31st at 2-under 140 over 36 holes of stroke play. He opened with a 1-under 71 at Erin Hills on Monday, and followed that up with a 1-under 69 at Blue Mound Golf & Country Club.
Choi tied for 81st at 1-over 143. He shot a 1-over 73 at Erin Hills, and then shot an even-par 70 at Blue Mound.
