RALEIGH, N.C. - Juventus Football Club and CD Guadalajara will conclude their participation in the Herbalife World Football Challenge 2011 when they square-off on Thursday, July 28 at Carter-Finley Stadium (8:00 p.m.).
Juventus, the 27-time Italian champs, come to the U.S. armed with new manager Antonio Conte and five squad members from Italy's 2006 World Cup championship squad (Alessandro del Piero, Gianlugi Buffon, Fabio Grosso, Luca Toni and Vincenzo Iaquinta).
Guadalajara also boast a bevy of players with Mexican national team experience -- most notably Luis Michel, Jonny Magallón and Alberto Medina.
"We couldn't be more excited to host two high level, quality teams here at NC State," said NC State men's soccer coach Kelly Findley. "Raleigh is a soccer city with great club programs, a quality pro team in the Carolina RailHawks, and has been a traditional stop for the Men's and Women's U.S. National Teams as well the site for many NCAA College Cups.
"The opportunity to host this type of event here at NC State is an opportunity I am happy our administration took advantage of."
This match completes the Herbalife World Football Challenge schedule put together by CAA Sports and Major League Soccer (MLS). The Herbalife World Football Challenge is this summer's multi-city North American soccer event featuring MLS and top international clubs.
Tickets for this match went on sale on Friday, July 8 and will be available at www.WorldFootballChallenge.com or via phone at the NC State Ticket Office at (919) 865-1510.
