ACC Announces Top Six for Service Awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Top Six for Service is awarded on each of the 12 Atlantic Coast Conference institutional campus annually. The criteria for this award are determined by each individual school recognizing student-athletes that have demonstrated outstanding community service and community relations. A Top Six for Service award recipient should be dedicated to serving others and have shown a passion for enriching the lives of others.
Here are the six student-athletes that represented NC State in 2010-11:
Brittany View, Women's Track & Field: Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and city of Raleigh beautification projects.
Jana Angel, Volleyball: Volunteer for Wake County schools as a speaker and role model to children.
Asa Watson, Football: A tight end for the Wolfpack football team, Asa Watson participated in a clothing drive for the homeless and is a leader of a Bible study group. He is currently in Los Angeles with Athletes in Action, working with Urban Project Los Angeles. Watson is also very active with Athletes in Action.
Paige Dugal, Women's Soccer: Helped to organize Adopt a Family for Thanksgiving project.
Allison Hendren, Women's Swimming & Diving: Allison Hendren was involved with both Service Raleigh and Habitat for Humanity over the past year. Hendren, who loves giving back to her community and helping those in need, has been active in community service since high school. In addition to Service Raleigh and Habitat for Humanity, she volunteered with the library staff at Athens Drive High School in Raleigh.
Earl Wolff, Football: Earl Wolff, Football: Always eager to mentor children, Wolfpack safety Earl Wolff volunteered with several local schools and civic organizations, speaking to classes and students on the importance of education, hard work, dedication and perseverance.
