Himelright Earns Academic All-District Award

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State’s Brian Himelright, a redshirt junior on the men’s cross country and track and field teams, has been named one of 10 first-team Capital One Academic All-District 3 for those sports by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A native of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Himelright has been a two-year contributor to the cross country team, finishing in the top 10 both seasons in the Wolfpack Invitational and in the top 40 both seasons at the ACC Championships.
In track, Himelright competes in the 3,000-meter steeple chase, recently competing in the NCAA East preliminary round in Bloomington, Ind. He also competed this spring in both the 1,500 meters and the 5,000 meters.
Himelright carries a perfect 4.0 in technology, engineering and design education.
As a first-team All-District selection, Himelright is now eligible for Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
