NC State Men's Soccer 2011 Schedule
NC State men’s soccer coach Kelly Findley has announced the Wolfpack’s 2011 schedule, his first at the helm of the program. The Pack’s 2011 schedule features eight teams that advanced to last season’s NCAA Tournament, including three non-conference foes that reached at least the second round.
NC State will open its 2011 campaign with a pair of home games. The Pack will host St. Francis (Pa.) on August 26, then host VMI on August 29.
For the 27th straight season, NC State will travel to Durham and compete in the Duke Adidas Classic, playing SMU and UC Santa Barbara. SMU lost on penalty kicks in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament last season, while UC Santa Barbara fell in the second round.
ACC action begins with a trip to Maryland on September 16. NC State’s home ACC slate includes Clemson, Boston College, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
In all, NC State will play 10 games at Dail Soccer Field, which is currently undergoing renovations this spring and summer.
Before the season gets underway, the Pack will play a pair of exhibition games. NC State will host UNC Greensboro August 16, and then travel to Davidson on August 20.
The ACC Tournament will be held November 8-11, with first round games played at the higher seed, and then action moving to WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
The NCAA Tournament will begin with first round action on November 17, and concludes with the 2011 College Cup in Birmingham, Ala., December 9-11.
