RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State men's soccer coach Kelly Findley has named midfielder Farouk Bseiso and defender Sonny Mukungu team captains for the upcoming 2011 fall season.
"For any team the quality of leadership dictates how successful they will be on and off the field," said Findley. "When the NC State men's soccer program looks for leaders we look for individuals that practice servant leadership, do the most work, are fiercely competitive and have a work ethic on and off the field that is second to none.
"We have great character and work ethic within our team. With Farouk and Sonny's leadership, we expect our team to reach our goals for this season and seasons to come."
Bseiso, a rising senior from local St. David's School in Raleigh, appeared in 19 games last season with 14 starts. The defensive center midfielder recorded a pair of assists on the season.
Mukungu, a rising sophomore from Jordan High School in Durham, was the Pack's top defender last year in his first season with the Pack. He started all 20 games as a central defender, and was named a third-team freshman All-American by collegesoccernews.com.
