Track Heads to Penn Relays, Stanford

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State will send a select contingent of men's and women's track and field athletes to the prestigious Penn Relays, the nation's oldest and largest track meet. Action begins on Thursday.

Four Wolfpack women will participate at the three-day event, including sophomore Lacey Shuman in the high, junior Karimah Shepherd in the long jump, junior Brittany Hampton in the discus and junior Lawanda Henry in the championship section of the hammer throw.
The Wolfpack men will be represented in the 4x100-meter relay, as T.J. Graham, Benjamin Major III, A'Tolani Akinkuotu and Tobias Palmer run together for the second time this season.
Graham will also participate in the college section of the 100-meter dash, while freshman Christian Council and sophomore Kris Kornegay-Gober will compete in the high jump; senior Lamont Savage, junior Emmanuel Davis and junior Kwame Boatwright will compete in the long jump; and freshman Nathaniel Williams will compete in the discus.

On Sunday, another contingent of Wolfpack runners will participate in the Payton Jordan Invitational, a meet known for high-caliber times in distance events. Results are available through this link.
Among those athletes who will participate are ACC champion sophomore Ryan Hill in the 5,000-meter race. He will be joined by teammates Andrew Colley Patrick Campbell. Junior Brian Himelright will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while juniors Adam Henken and Patrick Campbell will run in the 1,500-meter race.
Former Wolfpack runners Bobby Mack and Stephen Furst will also participate. Mack will run in the top section of the 10,000 meters and Furst in the top section of the 5,000 meters.
Four NC State women will run in the 1,500-meter race: juniors Tiayonna Blackmon and Kenyetta Iyevbele and freshmen Lillian Greibesland and Erin Mercer. Senior Kara McKenna will run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and junior Andie Cozzarelli in the 5,000 meters.
