
Seniors Celebrate with 6-1 Win

RALEIGH, N.C. - 33rd-ranked NC State ran away with a 6-1 Senior Day win over 51st-ranked Boston College Sunday at Pullen Park.
30th-ranked Sanaa Bhambri and 85th-ranked Sandhya Nagaraj completed a perfect 6-0 weekend, combined, winning each of their singles matches and pairing as the 30th-ranked doubles team to knock off Veronica Corning and Erina Kikuchi 8-4 to clinch the doubles point.
Bhambri took a 6-4, 6-1 decision over Alex Kelleher, while Nagaraj dispatched Kikuchi 6-1, 6-2 in singles play.
"Our team did a great job keeping their minds in the present, one point at a time" said NC State head coach Hans Olsen. "It was a special day for our seniors. Lenka [Hojckova], Sandhya [Nagaraj], and Sanaa [Bhambri] were very strong today. They showed great leadership. Congratulations to our seniors."
Lenka Hojckova and Joelle Kissell also notched 2-0 records on the day. Hojckova joined forces with Tatiana Illova to top Olga Khmylev and Kelleher 8-6 in doubles, and later won her singles match 6-1, 6-1 over Khmylev.
Kissell rebounded in doubles with Ashley Miller, claiming an 8-3 win over Katarina Gajic and Katharine Attwell before battling to a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) victory against Corning.
Tanvi Shah capped her debut weekend in ACC play with another victory, extending her conference record to 2-0. Shah dropped Attwell 5-7, 6-0, (10-8) in a thrilling comeback.
NC State (14-7, 5-6 ACC) wraps up the regular season with the win, and turns its attention to the ACC Tournament, beginning April 21 in Cary, N.C.
