GREENSBORO, N.C. - In a weather-related addition to the men's outdoor track and field schedule, several NC State sprinters performed well Friday in North Carolina A&T's Freedom and Friendship Games track meet.
Sophomore Daniel Fretz and junior Miles Walker both notched personal bests in the 400-meter dash Friday afternoon at North Carolina A&T's Freedom and Friendship Games track meet. Fretz was 10th after posting a 48.17-second time in his heat. Walker was 13th at 48.42 seconds.
Sophomore Benjamin Major III advanced to the finals of the 100-meter dash by finishing with the sixth best time of preliminary heats with a time of 10.72 seconds. Senior A'Tolani Akinuotu was ninth with a time of 10.83 seconds and Phillip Hardy was 13th at 11.04 seconds.
The five sprinters were entered in the meet in case they are unable to run at today's Kent Taylor-Joe Hilton Carolina Invitational at North Carolina. Weather-permitting, They will run with the rest of the Wolfpack team at the day-long event at UNC's Belk Track at Fetzer Field.
