RALEIGH, N.C. – The majority of the NC State men’s and women’s track and field teams will participate in Saturday’s Kent Taylor-Joe Hilton Carolina Invitational at UNC’s Belk Track at Fetzer Field.
The event will mark the 2011 outdoor debut of sophomore Ryan Hill, who has not raced since finishing ninth at the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships in March. He will compete with teammate Andy Henken Saturday night in the top section of the men’s 1,500-meter race.
Freshman Lillian Greibesland will also compete in the top section of the women’s 1,500-meter race.
The day-long event will begin with field events, starting at 9 a.m., and conclude with the men’s top section of the 1,500 meters, which is slated to begin at 8:45 p.m.
However, because of the threat of bad weather on Saturday, several Wolfpack sprinters will participate on Friday at North Carolina A&T’s Freedom and Friendship Games in Greensboro. Ben Major, A’Tolani Akinkuotu, Daniel Fretz, Miles Walker and Phillip Hardy will compete in several sprinting events.
They will also compete, weather permitting, in Saturday’s events at UNC.
Full results of both meets will be available late Friday and late Saturday on GoPack.com.
