LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Former NC State men's golfer Adam Hogue arrived at the Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club about 30 minutes earlier than his usual pre-round routine.
Since he took a three-week break from the West Florida Golf Tour, you could hardly blame the Lakewood Ranch resident for getting to the course for some extra preparation on Monday.
“A little extra time to hit a couple drivers and spend a little more time on putting,” Hogue said. “And get to know the speed of the greens, and that helped. ... I think I’m going to, actually start coming earlier than usual.”
Hogue, who is originally from Plymouth, Mich., carded a 4-under par 68 en route to winning the WFGT’s third major of the winter season.
