Women's Golf in Action at Bryan National

GREENSBORO, N.C. -
After first round action at the Bryan National Collegiate in Greensboro, N.C., the NC State women’s golf team sits in a three-way tie in 14th place. In first round action on Friday, the Wolfpack finished 23-over (311) and sits tied with UNC Greensboro and UNC Wilmington.
This weekend’s tournament has 13 of the 17 teams ranked nationally, with seven teams in the top-25.
Freshman Brittany Marchand posted the Pack’s top score of 3-over (75), finishing with three birdies on the final nine holes. Fellow freshman Ana Menendez was close behind at 4-over (76), followed by sophomore Amanda Baker at 6-over (78).
Senior Brooke Baker shot a 10-over (82), while sophomore Hayley Hammond posted a 14-over (86).
Tennessee holds the team lead by six strokes, finishing the first round at even-par (288). Erica Popson of Tennessee and Michelle Shin of Wake Forest share the individual lead at 2-under (70).
The second round is scheduled to take place tomorrow, with the third and final round on Sunday. Live stats are available at golfstat.com.
