First Round Results
STATESBORO, Ga. – Brandon Detweiler and Mitchell Sutton both shot even-par 72 to lead the No. 19 NC State men's golf team into a tie for eighth after the first of three rounds on Friday at the Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club.
NC State shot a team score of 4-over 292 and is just five shots out of third place.
Detweiler and Sutton are tied for 15th to lead the Wolfpack through 18 holes.
Albin Choi and Chad Day are tied for 35th after shooting 2-over 74, while Mark McMillen is tied for 53rd after shooting 4-over 76.
Choi had a team-high three birdies on his opening round, while his four teammates each recorded two birdies apiece.
No. 14 Auburn is atop the leaderboard at 9-under 279, three shots in front of No. 4 Florida.
Florida’s Bank Vongvani owns a two-shot advantage over the field at 6-under 66.
The second round begins at 9 a.m. The Wolfpack will tee off from hole No.1 from 9 a.m. through 9:36 a.m.
