MORGANTOWN, W. VA. --- NC State junior Brooke Barr earned EAGL Specialist of the Week honors, announced Tuesday by the league office, for her efforts in the Pack’s meet at 19th-ranked Minnesota.
Barr captured a first place finish in the floor exercise with a 9.9, her third podium finish in the event this season, and her first win on floor since the 2010 EAGL Championships.
The Harrisburg, Pa. native also added a third place finish on vault with her 9.8.
The junior seems to be hitting her stride as the EAGL Championships approach, tallying two firsts, a second, and a third in four events over the Pack’s last two meets.
Barr’s recognition marks the third-straight week that an NC State gymnast has been named specialist of the week, and the fourth time this year that the Wolfpack has taken home an EAGL Weekly Award.
The honor is Barr’s fourth-career EAGL Specialist of the Week award. Barr was also named EAGL Rookie of the Week five times in 2009.
23rd-ranked NC State returns to action Saturday, March 19 in Washington, D.C. at the EAGL Championships, beginning at 2 p.m.
