Findley Finalizes Men's Soccer Staff

RALEIGH, N.C. - Head coach Kelly Findley has completed his men's soccer staff with the hiring of Steven Cox as an assistant coach. Cox joins Findley and assistant coach David Costa coming from Butler, where this past season the Bulldogs finished the regular season ranked No. 5 nationally and set a school record with 16 wins.
Cox spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Butler. He was named to Coach Findley's staff in July of 2009, and handled the technical and tactical training of Butler's goalkeepers.
Cox boasts an extensive background in coaching, both on the collegiate and club levels. He is the founder and director of USA Goalkeeping Academy, and he served as the goalkeeping trainer for Noblesville United Soccer Club. He also served as the Indiana Boys 95 ODP Head State Coach. Cox further was assigned as the Indiana ODP Goalkeeping Coach in the fall of 2008, and he previously served as an assistant coach for the `93 Indiana ODP boys state team. Cox also served as men's and women's assistant coach at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Ill.
A four-year starter and two-year captain on the men's soccer team at Houghton College, Cox earned NAIA honorable mention All-America recognition as a senior. He played in the Premier Development League with the Chicago Eagles, and the Toronto, Canada, native was a member of the U-17 and U-20 Canadian National Team programs. He currently holds a USSF "C" license.
