RICHMOND, Va. -
No. 55 NC State (7-4) fell at No. 75 Virginia Commonwealth (10-3) by a 5-2 score on Saturday, Feb. 26. Rafael Paez and Ivan Sanchez Gomez each picked up singles wins for the Wolfpack.
Paez downed Antonie Baroz at No. 4 in a three-set bout, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, while Sanchez Gomez topped Alejandro Argente in straight-sets, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 6.
The Rams took the opening doubles point to take an early lead, before clinching the match with wins at four singles spots.
NC State will return to play on March 11 with a 2 p.m. match at College of Charleston.
