GREENSBORO, N.C. - Two NC State student-athletes garnered All-ACC Academic volleyball team honors for the 2010 season, the league office announced today.
Juniors Megan Cyr and Luciana Shafer earned the honor in their first season with the Wolfpack after transferring into the program this fall.
To be considered for the All-ACC Academic team honor, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
Cyr and Shafer both excelled in their first campaign with the Pack in 2010. Cyr, a setter from Manitoba, Canada, paced NC State with 10.21 assists per set, and placed second on the squad in blocks, earning 54 in the season. Shafer, who hails from San Juan Capistrano, Calif., led the Pack offensively with 299 kills and posted 309 digs in 2010.
