MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Strong showers and thunderstorms in the Myrtle Beach area Friday morning played havoc with the schedule for the 2011 Baseball at the Beach tournament.
NC State’s tournament opener vs. Pacific, originally scheduled for noon Friday at BB&T Coastal Federal Field in Myrtle Beach, has been moved to Watson Stadium in Conway, S.C., home field for Coastal Carolina’s baseball program. The NC State-Pacific game now is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., but could be pushed back by heavy rain in the area.
The remainder of NC State’s games for the weekend should be largely unaffected by Friday’s weather. The Wolfpack's game Saturday vs. California has been moved back 30 minutes, from 11:30 a.m. to noon. The Wolfpack will finish the weekend against Coastal Carolina on Sunday at 3 p.m., as scheduled.
