RALEIGH, N.C. -
NC State will play seven games in Carter-Finley Stadium in 2011, including three of the last four contests of the season, according to the schedule released today by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
In the month of November, the Wolfpack will play host to North Carolina, travel to Boston College and then close out the campaign with home games against Clemson and Maryland (Thanksgiving weekend).
Tom O'Brien's squad will face defending Big South champion Liberty, undefeated South Alabama, Cincinnati and Central Michigan in out-of-conference play. The game at Cincinnati on Sept. 22 will be a Thursday night ESPN broadcast.
"Once again, we face a challenging schedule," said O'Brien. "Nothing is ever easy when you're playing in the ACC. We are looking forward to the start of spring practice on March 17 and the beginning of our preparation for another exciting year of Wolfpack football."
Tickets are now on sale for all Wolfpack Club members (online only at www.gopack.com/renewtix). Paper applications will be mailed in mid-March and May 15 is the priority deadline for ticket orders.
The Kay Yow Spring Game will be held on April 16, at 1 p.m.
Other notes on the 2011 Wolfpack schedule:
√ NC State will travel to Virginia for the first time since 2006, when it takes on the Cavaliers on October 22.
√ Tom O'Brien will face two of his former assistant coaches this season: Mike London at Virginia (Oct. 22) and Frank Spaziani at Boston College (Nov. 12).
