The NC State men’s soccer team will open the 2011 ACC Tournament with Virginia Tech on Monday at 1 p.m. in Chapel Hill. The winner will face the ACC regular season champion Tar Heels on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
NC State has recorded at least one win in four of the last five ACC Tournaments. Since 2006, the Pack has a record of 4-5-1 in the ACC Tournament, compared to a record of just 1-13-2 in the 14 tournaments prior to 2006.
The Pack and Hokies will be meeting in the ACC Tournament for the fourth time, with NC State coming out on top in each of the three previous meetings. NC State won in 2006 (4-3), in 2008 (3-1), and also last year (6-3).
Earlier this season against the Hokies, sophomore Nazmi Albadawi netted the game-winner in the 7th minute of overtime, as the NC State men's soccer team came away with a 2-1 win over Virginia Tech on October 14.
