State Hosts Play4Kay event Sunday vs. Virginia Tech

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's soccer team is hosting a Play4Kay breast cancer awareness game on Sunday when the Wolfpack welcomes Virginia Tech for a 1 p.m. match at Dail Soccer Field.
A handful of promotions will be going on throughout the afternoon, including "pink" themed giveways at the front gate. Half of all proceeds will go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, a charitable organization named after former Wolfpack Hall of Fame head womens' basketball coach Kay Yow.
In addition, the sorority ZTA will be promoting their Pink Out Week that runs October 23-28, and Domino's will be sampling their new artisan pizzas while supplies last during the match.
And that's only the beginning. It's a Student Wolfpack Club event, the NC State band will be in attendance and its also Faith and Family Day as well. Bring your church bulletin to the gate and adult tickets are buy one get one FREE.
State is coming off a tough 1-0 overtime loss to No. 8 Virginia on Thursday night. The Cavaliers scored the match's only goal in the 99th minute to earn the victory. Today's matchup with the Hokies is a crutial one as NC State is 10th in the ACC standings with just four games remaining in the regular season.
Meanwhile, Virginia Tech blanked Clemson, 3-0, on Thursday night at home. The Hokies have won two-consecutive league matches and have moved into a tie for seventh in the league standings. The top 8 make the ACC Tournament.
NC State continues its play at home Thursday night against Clemson at 7 p.m.
