Jade's Journal: It's Almost That Time!

Hello again!
I hope everyone had a great holiday season! I can't believe how fast Christmas break went by. I think all of the girls on the team were really excited to get back to campus and see each other. You would have thought we had been gone for a couple of months instead of just a few weeks! We started classes back up on Jan. 10 and are already cracking the books and studying hard.
We also started practice the first week of class as well. We are working hard to prepare for our first tournament, which is in Florida on Feb. 11. It will be here before we know it! I know the girls and I are really eager to get the season rolling. We practiced hard in the fall and now it is time to put our skills to the test!
There have also been some exciting events that have taken place since we’ve been back at school. A few weekends ago, the tennis team challenged the softball team to a few games of paintball. So, we headed down the road a little ways to Angier, where there are a few paintball courses. It was so much fun! Some of the courses were out in the woods, and there were some where you could hide in forts and shoot at your opponent.
At one point, I found myself crawling on the ground trying to sneak around and shoot at one of the other players. I never knew I would get so in to it! I think that was the first time playing paintball for a lot of the girls and I think everyone had a really good time.
Also, this past weekend we held our alumni game. Even though it was freezing cold outside, it was still a lot of fun. It was really neat getting to meet some of the previous players and see who use to play what position, and who use wear your number. We have had a lot of fun so far and I am looking forward to many more great times this semester!
