NC State Gymnastics is currently ranked 13th in the country and first in EAGL. We had a very tough competition against WVU last Friday. I explained to the freshman before the meet to be ready for a battle. Both schools bring out the best in each other. Fortunately, we were able to win a close one. Go Pack!
We certainly missed Becca Teich in the FX and vault lineup. She has been a mainstay for us over the last two years, but had a fantastic crash on vault the day before the meet and will be out for the season with an injured knee. The team rallied around her and did a great job! Becca is in wonderful spirits and looking forward to getting her knee fixed and getting back in the gym.
Colleen Johnson has our beam team moving in a very positive direction. The kids look confident and strong. The coaching staff is very proud of the effort the girls give everyday. Way to go beam!
We travel to Florida this weekend for a tri-meet against the #1 Gators and #23 Penn State. It will be a great competition.
I will have an update after the meet. Until next time...
