RALEIGH, N.C. --- On the heels of the best season-opening meet in school history, NC State gymnastics ranked 10th-nationally in Monday’s Troester.com rankings.
The Pack’s 195.150 performance last Friday placed them in the top-10 nationally, and third in the Southeast region, trailing only Florida and Georgia.
NC State also appeared in three of the four event top-25s, scoring a fourth-place ranking in floor exercise to mark the team’s highest-ever, an eighth-place nod on bars, and a ninth-place mention on beam.
Senior Brittany Vontz’s 9.85 on Friday gave her a share of 14th in the nation on the bars. Junior Jess Panza and freshman Stephanie Ouellette claimed shares of 16th overall with their floor routines of 9.85.
Ouellette also appeared just outside of the top-25 in the individual all-around rankings after posting a 38.975, placing her tied for 27th.
The Wolfpack returns to action Friday, January 21 as 18th-ranked West Virginia visits Reynolds Coliseum at 7 p.m.
