RALEIGH, N.C. - After six consecutive games at home to begin the 2010 slate, the NC State women's soccer team heads out on the road to visit long-standing rival East Carolina on Friday night at 7 p.m.
The Wolfpack is 4-2 heading into the game after picking up back-to-back shutouts last week - 4-0 over Pittsburgh and 6-0 over Loyola of Maryland.
Fresh off those two victories, NC State finds itself the highest scoring team in the ACC with 22 goals
Senior Nadia Aboulhosn led the way Sunday with her first collegiate hat trick in the win over the Greyhounds. She stands as the only player in the ACC to score three times in a game so far this fall and her six total points is also a single-game high in the league.
Freshman Jennie Krauser had three assists in the win over Loyola and continues to lead the club in scoring with 12 points (four goals, four assists). That figure ranks second in the Atlantic Coast Conference, while the Irvine, Calif., native is also tied for second in the league in goals and assists.
Junior Kristina Argiroff is next on the scoring ledger with 11 points on four goals and three assists. Her five-point game against Coastal Carolina is tied with four others in the ACC for the second highest single-game point total this season.
Junior Tanya Cain has also dished out four helpers this season.
11 different players have scored already for NC State. 2007 was the last season that NC State had as many different goal scorers.
Junior goalkeeper Kim Kern has started all six matches and owns a 0.79 goals-against-average, the ninth best mark in the ACC.
Scouting East Carolina: The Pirates are 3-2 heading into Friday's match with the Wolfpack. ECU garnered victories over Old Dominion and Niagara last weekend to move about .500 on the season.
Having mustered only 10 goals in the first five games of the season, Chrissy Gratz and Amanda Malkiewicz are atop the goal scoring column with two markers each.
Keeper Christiane Cordero has played every minute so far this year, and has compiled a 1.63 GAA with 15 saves.
NC State is back home Sunday for its final non-league match of the season at Dail Soccer Field against Florida International. Kick off is at 1 p.m.
