Pack to Host No. 3 North Carolina Friday Night
Sept. 8, 2010
RALEIGH, N.C. - The start of the fall semester means more than the return of football to Carter-Finley Stadium.
Other Wolfpack sports are already underway, including strong starts by volleyball and men's and women's soccer.
Friday night, George Tarantini's men's soccer team will host one of its biggest games of the season, when North Carolina visits the Dail Soccer Field for a 7 p.m. Atlantic Coast Conference contest. It will be a rematch of last year's ACC Championship quarterfinal game that the Wolfpack won on penalty kicks at the WakeMed Soccer Stadium in Cary on its way to the conference title game.
It will be the first big on-campus game for students and NC State fans. Students will have the opportunity to utilize the new field-level bleachers behind each goal.
Admission is free for anyone with a ticket stub to last Saturday's Western Carolina football game.
Friday's game will also spotlight the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL). All parents, family members and staff wearing CASL gear will be admitted free. Anyone else involved with CASL not wearing logoed gear will receive the $3 group rate.
Those arriving early have the opportunity for lots of prizes and giveaways.
The first 200 students at the game will receive free Dominos Pizza. The first 500 fans will receive free NC State soccer T-shirts. And the first 300 fans will receive free Wolfpack soccer stress balls.
One fan, with a winning game program, will take home the video game FIFA World Cup 2010 for the video game system of his or her choice.
