NC State begins the second week of Atlantic Coast Conference action by playing its second-straight team ranked in the top-4 in the country - when hosting No. 3 North Carolina on Friday. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m., and fans are encouraged to wear red as part of the "Block out the Blue" promotion theme going on throughout the evening.

The Wolfpack is tied for third in the ACC standings with three points after posting a 1-1 record last week. Junior Tanya Cain scored her third game winner of the year in the 70th minute to send the Wolfpack to a 1-0 victory at Clemson last Thursday.
No. 3 Boston College held on for a 1-0 win over NC State on Sunday. Junior keeper Kim Kern made 10 saves to keep the match close the entire 90 minutes. Kern has started all 11 matches and owns a 0.60 goals-against-average, the fourth best mark in the ACC and 30th nationally. The Raleigh, N.C., native ranks third in the league and 22nd nationally in save percentage (.880) and is also tied for fourth in the ACC for shutouts (4.0).
NC State is ranked nationally in four different statistical categories - 11th in save percentage (0.895), 13th in shutout percentage (0.636), 19th in goals-against-average (0.543) and 34th in scoring offense (2.27 goals per game).
Junior Kristina Argiroff, freshman Jennie Krauser and Cain are all tied for the team lead in scoring with 12 points (four goals, four assists) each.
Sophomore Kara Blosser and senior Nadia Aboulhosn have each chipped in with three goals and seven points apiece.
Scouting North Carolina
North Carolina has started the 2010 season with an 9-1-1 mark and it has scored 36 goals in those 11 games, an average of 3.27 goals scored per game. Alyssa Rich tops the scoring ledger with 19 points on seven goals and five assists, while Kealia Ohai and Meghan Klingenberg have each contributed 14 points apiece. Anna Sieloff has played the bulk of the minutes in goal - posting a 1.04 goals-against-average and a 7-1-1 slate.
