RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's soccer team will wrap up a three game homestand, as the Wolfpack (3-4) plays host to the Appalachian State Mountaineers (3-2-2) Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Dail Soccer Field.
The Wolfpack is 3-1 this season against non-conference foes, only losing to then-No. 20 Louisville in overtime, 2-1. Even more impressive, NC State has won both of its home non-conference games this season by a combined score of 9-1.
The men's soccer team split a pair of games this past week. Last Wednesday night, NC State used a two-goal outburst in a span of just 25 seconds in the second half to defeat visiting Presbyterian, 5-1. Then on Saturday, the Pack fell at home to Virginia Tech, 2-1, despite a 17-4 advantage in shots against the Hokies.
The Pack is 7-3-2 all-time against Appalachian State, including a 5-3 edge in games played in Raleigh. The two teams have not met since the 1999 season, a 1-0 NC State win.
Appalachian State comes into the contest with a record of 3-2-2 on the season. The Mountaineers have won two of their last three games, Liberty (2-1) and Gardner-Webb (3-1), but fell at Campbell over the weekend, 1-0.
