RALEIGH, N.C. -
The NC State men’s soccer team will return to home action this week, as the Wolfpack plays host to VMI Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Dail Soccer Field. Live stats are available here.
The Pack enters Wednesday’s non-conference tilt with a record of 1-2 so far in 2010. NC State is coming off of a narrow 1-0 loss to No. 3 North Carolina Friday night, played in front of a standing room only crowd at Dail Soccer Field.
Sophomore Michael Smith leads the Pack with two goals and four points on the season. In the past three games, senior Chris Zuerner has led the team with two assists, while junior Will Mackvick has played every minute of the three games in the Wolfpack goal.
NC State is 2-0 all-time against VMI. In 2002, the Pack came away with a 2-0 victory over the Keydets, and in 2008 they proceeded to defeat VMI 3-1.
VMI is making a trip to Raleigh on Wednesday after playing two consecutive home games. The Keydets hold a 0-3-1 record this season. Sophomore Matt Seinfeld and senior Amir Shitiata lead the Keydets in scoring, each with one goal. Senior Brian Harding leads the team with two assists for the four games this season.
