
Pack Improves Four Strokes in 2nd Round at Cougar Classic

HANAHAN, S.C. - The NC State women's golf team improved four strokes from yesterday's first round, as the Pack shot a 16-over (304) in second round action at the Cougar Classic at the Yeamans Hall Golf Course in Hanahan, S.C. NC State is currently in a tie for 15th place, at 36-over (612).
North Carolina maintains the lead for the second straight day, as the Tar Heels are at six-under (570) and hold a nine-shot lead over the rest of the 21-team field.
Sophomore Amanda Baker posted the Pack's top score of the day, as she was three-over (75), a four-shot improvement for her from yesterday's first round. Baker holed two birdies on the day, and is at 10-over for the tournament.
Senior Brooke Baker also posted a score of three-over (75) for the second straight round, and is at six-over for the tournament. In today's second round, Baker finished with just one hole over par on the back nine.
Freshman Ana Menendez had a team-high four birdies on Monday, and shot a four-over (76) and is at seven-over after two rounds. Menendez was at even par on the back nine, and had a birdie on three of her last five holes.
Freshman Brittany Marchand posted birdies on two of her final four holes, and shot a six-over (78) on the day. For the two rounds, Marchand is at 13-over.
Freshman Maureen Dunnagan shot an eight-over (80), and is at 15-over after two rounds. She had two birdies for the round, including one on the 18th hole.
Sophomore Haley Hammond is competing as an individual this week. She has posted scores of four-over (76) in both rounds thus far. On Monday, Hammond finished with two birdies on the final four holes, and overall was one-under on the back nine with only one hole over par.
