
Women's Golf Opens at Cougar Classic

HANAHAN, S.C. - The NC State women's golf team hit the course for the first time this school year, competing at the Cougar Classic at the Yeamans Hall Golf Course in Hanahan, S.C. In Sunday's first round, the Pack shot a 20-over (308) and currently stand in 16th place overall.
North Carolina holds the team lead in the 21-team field at three-under (285).
The Pack was led in the first round by senior Brooke Baker and freshman Ana Menendez, as both golfers shot a three-over (75). Baker and Menendez both holed two birdies during their rounds. Menendex finished her round strong, going even-par on the back-nine.
The Pack's other three golfers finished the first round at seven-over (79); sophomore Amanda Baker and freshmen Maureen Dunnagan and Brittany Merchand. Baker also finished with a team-high two birdies for the round, while Dunnagan had one.
The second round will be held tomorrow, while the final round will be played on Tuesday. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
